Almoney Residence

This project has a very special setting up on a sweet building site, nestled in the red rocks, San Miguel River flowing below, down valley from Historic Telluride, CO. This area (referred to as the banana belt in Telluride), just 20 minutes away, has a micro-climate, milder than the harsher mountain conditions in Telluride and the ski area. The owners were pulled to this property after living up at nearly 10,000 ft. above see level in a little mining community called Ophir for the past 13 years.

The owners (both own and operate their own respective successful businesses in the building industry) and their twin daughters wanted a home that maximized and indoor/outdoor lifestyle as this relates to mountain living as well as using sustainable materials focused on a ‘healthy home’. This home will showcase the expertise that each of them bring to the table… husband, owner of Floored Inc, installing wood floors in all the best homes in the area and wife, owner of design business for interior as well as consultant in creating ‘healthy homes’ via expert in building biology.

Their requirements were approx. 2,500 SF of conditioned space including 3 bedrooms and 3 baths. The home will be constructed using a 12″ thick green building wall system called FASWALL. This will be the first home in the Telluride utilizing this system.
